An enthusiastic and vivid school goer is now struggling to pursue her education. Amid chaos and a horrific two-year pandemic lockdown, a girl student of class VI and her parents have been struggling to even make ends meet, forget quality education. A skilled welder by profession, her father had to close his business due to lockdown and mother being a home maker. This is the story of Srilekha S and her future at stake!
Srilekha’s educations hangs by a thin thread and her parents are trying to do everything they can to ensure she has access to good quality education. They have struggled but some how with the help of friends and peers are wading off the big decision to move her to a Govt.school as they are unable to afford the term fees totaling up to Rs.76,490/- annually. Currently she is studying in a renowned CBSE international school in Maduravoyal and her parents have a distant dream of continuing her education even if the chances look very remote.
They approached Vidhyavruksha through THE FAMOUS FIVE – Mathivanan, who has been instrumental in helping the family from time to time for their short term educational needs but wanted a long term solution. We met the parents and the girl and were touched with their commitment to a girl’s education. Vidhyavruksha has paid their book fees of Rs.15,490/- for this term so that Srilekha could atleast study and prepare for her exams starting this week.
As a part of “Ezhuthukkal”, we are looking for benefactors and patrons who can support Srilekha’s aspiration to complete her education. Mathivanan is also actively reaching out to school administration for a discount in fees but if you are interested in sponsoring Srilekha, please reach out to us. We will be much obliged and happy to present more details directly to secure the future of a young girl and give her the wings to fly.
