Mahakavi Bharathiyar in his poem "Aangor Ezhaikku" said building a thousand choultries and offering free meals to all those who come, building ten thousand temples, are good deeds indeed, but helping a poor student get education is far more divine. This phrase has always and will continue inspire us at Vidhyavruksha Foundation to assist students from families with limited financial means to afford quality education. Throughout our journey we have received immense support from patrons without which nothing we do could be possible. We have also developed a special bond with the students we support, their families, teachers and the institutions, which moves us to work on building an enduring relationship with them. With this premise, we are excited to launch the "Ezhuthukkal" sponsorship program that translates to "The Written Word", through which we intend to share this bond with our patrons. "Ezhuthukkal" encourages our patrons to develop a relationship with the students they sponsor by helping them in their academic journey till they complete school / college. Vidhyavruksha Foundation currently has 4 students already enrolled through this program but looking forward to expand the "Ezhuthukkal" sponsorship to benefit more children. The ongoing pandemic has changed life as we know it, and a lot of children have lost their parents to this sinister disease. Vidhyavruksha Foundation is also working on identifying such students to include them under our "Ezhuthukkal" program to ensure that they don't loose their education too. We are also open to receive recommendations from our patrons and well-wishers if they happen to know any students to be included as part of this initiative.
